Led Zeppelins ”Stairways to heaven” värderas till 572 miljoner dollar. Det mesta har Led Zeppelin och skivbolaget redan dragit in, konstaterar den här Portfolio-analysen av hur mycket låten är värd.
Det intressanta är hur mycket bandet hållit sig borta från att kommersialisera låten tidigare. Kan det ha bidragit till att öka dess värde? Eller är det helt enkelt så att det bara är en ”bra” låt? (for the record, not my cup of tea…)
Men om de vill maximera vinsterna, gäller det att inte vänta för länge:
”…if Zeppelin wants to cash in, it should move before nostalgic baby boomers get too old. “If the target market is 45-plus, the song is extremely valuable,” says Izzy DeBellis, executive creative director at Kirshenbaum Bond & Partners. “It’s associated with every last dance you ever had. Prom—it was the makeout song. If you were still dancing slow at the end of the song, you were in.”
