Programledaren: ”You grew up in Detroit… Were you a nerd? Did people pick on you because your brain was probably bigger than the rest of your body when you were 12?

Shiller: “Well… At a class reunion last year it felt that my status has improved. I could hug all the pretty girls now.”

Programledaren: “Hey, you´ve got a really good head of hair and you got a Nobel prize, so there you go…”

Programledaren: ”Fama and you have actually been rivals through the years. You see the world differently, yet the committee recognizes what you´ve both done.”

Shiller: “They are at the university of Chicago school and I´m at Yale, and I suppose that colors our thinking. That Chicago school tends to not think of anything contrary to markets… There´s this idea that market solutions are perfect. I actually like markets, but I don´t think of them as perfect, I think they need regulation.”

Programledaren: “What’s most perfectly prized right now?”

Shiller: “In the short run, real estate. The stock market is overprized, I think. But in the long run it might be exactly the reversed.”
